hi guys… i have some troble with my rocker… this is my first board that im planning to make… and when i was creating my rocker for the first time with my cut half part of the board with my planner… the problem is, i used the same depth of the planer but the surface become totally out of control… and i think my blank is becoming very thin now… it’s totally unwanted… please give me advice…
uh…you might wanna sand a little now and then so the planer dosent make things all uneven…
hi ben im asuming that you are trying to add tail rocker alsomt every shortboard today have tail rocker measuring at1’’ @ 1’ back and 2’’ @ the tip of the tail. when you start to make your cut on a unshaped blank start at a full cut at the tail from right to left and slowy work your way up to not cutting at all @18’’ of the tail hopethis helps cain
sounds like you may be pushing down on the planer, try holding the trigger loosley and just pushing the planer forwards with no downward pressure applied. to get the planer lines out, go to home depot and go to the drywall section. they will have these cool little things that look like masonry trowels but actually hold a shet of snading screen. makes for a really really good screening block, really easy to change screens when they come worn.
