Round bottom instead of concave on modern longboard?

i have a modern longboard. I call it that because its not super heavy, and its not old school. Im not really a noserider, i mean, i love to trim from up front when the wave allows, and yep, for sure if i get the right wave, i love to try to bottom turn/stall and cross step up, but that rarely happens, so most of the time, i just enjoy the versatility of catching lots of waves, the awesome drive/glide of longboards, and the sweet, drawn out cutbacks back into the foam. Anyway, mine has a blended nose concave, and really, it seems to me all it does it catch the breeze, and keep me out of waves sometimes. I could get further forward to avoid that, but i surf mostly peaky beachbreaks, so being too far forward doesnt work real well. Could a round bottom up front work better?? Nothing crazy hull like or anything, just a bit rounded under the nose??

Cheers

That is what I do on longboards for myself… with a slight spoon nose. To me, they feel faster, than if you had a concave, and it helps with wind factor. good luck

here is a 9’4 I made last summer…no concave…slight/rolled vee infront of the fin. don’t have any pics of nose belly though.

Beerfan I can send you a plan for a High Performance Longboard for Peaky Beach Break…
