I have emailed Resin research but not had a reply, i have a letter of RR hardener that the lable has come off and I’m not sure if it was quick kick harder or just 2100 fast hardener. Are both resins and hardeners compatible with both resins? I remember greg saying you can mix the hardeners to get different types but will i get problems if used quick kick hardener in 2000 resin or 2100 harderner in quick kick resin? does anyone know? best regards
It will work with any RR resin. Just plan to move fast if it is quick kick, if it is just fast, then no worries!
It is compatible according to the RR website. I’ve found that other 2:1 resins and hardeners are compatible as well… I.E. I’ve mixed different brands and it went OK. If you do it and it doesn’t work, don’t blame me.
This is a cut/paste from the website…
“Each system incorporates four resins and four curing agents to make it the one system that can be used for all composites and coatings. All the components are interchangeable so changing from a high modulus resin to a more flexible resin is as easy as picking up a different bottle. Likewise the hardeners are all 2 to 1 mix ratio with all four resins and with four different hardener speeds almost any job can be finished with working ease.”
I recall reading somewhere that the KK resin/hardner was NOT compatible with the other RR formulas. Don’t quote me on it but you may want to play it safe and wait for Greg to respond…
I ever do 2000 fast hardener in kk resin and it harden. I ever try mix of hardener and resin from différent brand that more or less harden too. All was bisphenol A resin and amine hardener technologie, but if final mix contain too much diluant like benzyl alcool ended with a soft material. Better to make a small test.
I had a reply from sam at RR and he said the KK harderner is thicker than the 2000 and sure enough it is quite clear which is which when you compare so happy days.
due to a shimpment error i am in possession of a liter of kwik kick hardener in combination with the 2100 resin…are these two compatible for sure?
