RTM Light mold for for Surfboards Fins

Hi guys, somebody work with RTM Light For fins construction??

I need some help about the mold construction

I have some doubts as to where to put the hole in the mold vacuum, and where to put the resin injection?

I was thinking of putting the hole where the vacuum hose will be in the center, but this way I would have to finish sanding at this point.

this construction process, can I have a piece finished on both sides? without sanding in the middle part?

thanks all you…

I’ve infused a few rudders and foils for boats, yes have done one fin as well!

I use a split mound injecting along the tab end and vacuum line at pointed tip. Glosscoat (gelcoat) went in first and allowed to kick. Then reinforcement and core material. Close it all up and ready to go. Inevitable a bit of sanding required to remove flashline.

Fiddley stuff but it works. I plan on doing several at once if I ever get around to building the moulds!

Thanks Rikds, I will make some tests with diferents positions of vacuum line position.

Aloha man.

Hello Alma, i´m a fan of your work,

Im starting doing fins for some friends in plywood and layup hand foiling, the result is nice but I have expend a lot of time doing a couple of twin fins!!!

I´m curious to know if it possible to do lay up with any core material onto a mold??? or just vaccum bagging? can you give me some hints, I know that is a professional secret, anyway, im trying to do this as well for a small bussiness here in Portugal!

well, cheers e obrigado

e de qualquer forma, muito bom trabalho, parabens!!!
