Russel Kim Lightning Bolt

I recently acquired a Russel Kim shaped board with the lightning bolt. I know he was a shaper for lightning bolt at some time. Does anyone have any info on him? Also, would this board be considered a Lightning Bolt board or does it need some LB land on it to be official? Board is pre leash plug era 6’7 swallow tail with blue resin tint and glassed on multi color fin that looks to be original* :grinning:*

Benjamin, Kim is in. I found a site http://www.boardcollectors.com , under Enablers.
Lightning Bolt Hawaii had 3 distinct shaping Units.

  1. Lopez, Reno, Parrish, Chapman, etc
  2. Rory, Eberly, Barnfield, etc
  3. Kim, Walden, Carper, Nellis, etc

Board prices (1970’s) had a $20 price difference as you went from Unit 1 to 2 to3.
