anyone out there use the Ryobi HPL51 electric planer…looks like nice ok planer… I have a older clark planer and was looking for a cheap back up.
Yep, thats the one I’m using. Of course I don’t know what the hell I’m really doing with it yet, 
but it works okay for me. I took the bag off and just let the foam fly.
The adjustment knob looks like it would be a pain to open and close when you are using it.
Thats what I used to shape board #1 worked ok but theirs no knob to adjust while your planing. I kept the bag on. My wife was pissed enough with all the dust in garage already.
they do make one with a knob…I guess you would have to modify it to move freely.
