Who out there is planning on going? This time La Jolla legend Carl Eckstrom will be honored. Perhaps those that go could post up some pics on what is new out there- if anything… Nonetheless, its great that Carl is going to be the man, as if he wasn’t already.
I will be going on Sunday and will post plenty of pics for those who can not attend. Board demo from 7-10 in the morning too , plethora of asyms
not sure which day ill be there but luckly the rusty guys are gona sneak me in so ill try and take pics of some cool stuff
Howzit grat,How many of these do they have in a year, seems like there was one just a few months ago. Aloha,Kokua
I think I’m going to go for a little while, just to watch Pat Rawson shape. Otherwise the whole deal is a bit too commercialized for my tastes, despite the cutesy Sacred Cow name.
LeeV said he’s probably going to attend as well, so he can chat up his hull buddies.
Your right about the commercialization part; nonetheless, people have the ability to watch someone like Rawson actually shaping, and most people out here don’t have that type of opportunity. Tim Bessell is a great shaper too and he will be there. I haven’t been for a while, and the last time Reno Abellira and Shaun Tomson made it memorable- what colorful characters. Anyways, I would recommend it to anyone who aspires to shape boards and make boards.
The assymetrical tribute shape off will be unreal. Shapers will explain their concepts which should be eye opening. The concept of creating a functional design while thinking outside of the box is refreshing. Wish I had the time and money to make this one. Have fun.
Aloha lives .
What would you expect from an event that Scott Bass is involved in?
(Bites tongue)
I have never had a problem with Scott Bass, unlike quite a few people that are involved in the surf industries. He is a standup guy, and now he is successful, good for him. Bassy is legit when the waves get good, and I know he’s said the same about me.
At least he was smart enough to quit trying to be a writer.
I am not sure he’s done with writing; the movie he wrote about surfing and Vietnam was pretty good in my opinion. I would say he’s more done with the Sacred Craft since he sold the rights to his baby.
I’ve gone to all of the shows in SD and one in Ventura. I participated in a couple giving (somewhat) humorous talks about surfboards. Except for last year’s in downtown SD they’ve been anything but comercialized. Where else are you going to be able to spend one day and talk to just about every major and a whole bunch of minor shapers, glassers, fin makers. I’ve never felt the pressure to “shut up or buy something” that you might get in someone’s shop. Would some of the exhibitors want to sell a board or two; sure. But so far, its been shooting the shit (is that the same as “chatting up?”) about surfboards.
If you want a really unique experience and look at a lot of shiney cool surfboards, go. If not, don’t…
I been to two of these and I will probably go again…but not if it is right in the middle of a nice Southern Hemisphere swell …If you go, go early and enjoy the surfboard appraisals. And it will be very crowded I reckon…so prepare thyself. Stop in and see the Pool Man…tell him that Proneman said to share the Tecate.

I couldn't say at this point. I may see him this weekend and I'll ask if I do.
Hi Ghetto-
We’ll be there as usual but this time we are doing (almost) LIVE Interviews at Sacred Craft. We are working with the crew at Solspot to bring the interviews to you as close to live as possible. We’re hoping give the viewer some good insight into the show. The videos will be posting continously and can be seen on the front page of SolSpot.com. They will also be found on our **blog **after the show.
If you’re going to be at Sacred Craft this Saturday or Sunday stop by and say hello. We’ll be giving away swag as usual and not to mention we will have “show specials” going on all weekend.
See you there-
Brad
Scott's one of the nicest guys that I've met through surfing. Sacred Craft is so soulful it’s crazy. Where else are you going to go to see a shapers lifetime of experience shown in real time?
Yeah, it's expensive to pull off, and it takes some business savy people to make it successful. I'd think you guys would put more into the attributes than I see here.
See you there.

Now is your chance to talk to Thrailkill, Foam-EZ Brad, or Pro-Box Larry, and that’s just for starters. One of my friends called me and told me he heard it advertised on the radio- this is going to be big! I really want to know what catches your guys attention, and if there is anything new out there under the sun.
