I was sitting in my car scanning Craigslist and came across this clean outline. Owner didn’t know what it was, an old Bob Sakoda longboard.
I am doing partial resto deskinning the entire deck and reglassing so I can bring the board back to the ocean for a baptismal session at Oside Blvd 30 years later. Pealed back old glass and did a few layers of 4oz. Board is back to original weight. I routed out all the q-cell dings and pressed in fresh foam.
Does any one have a Sakoda lb? That could take pictures of his fish logo and his signature lam. I want to recreate the original lam logos.
Does also anyone have any history on Mr. Sakoda? I am also Japanese so a lot of respect. I heard he was an amazing craftsman who would disappear to Baja for half the year testing out his shapes and designs.
