San Diego Shaper looking to use someones shaping bay

I am currently without a garage to work out of and was hoping I could use someones space to bust out a board or 2. Any help out there would be appriciated.

Thanks

Beebe Surfboards

now don’t everyone reply all at once!

Try this:

I need someone's shop to try my board building skills.  Photo below

(photo borrowed from Santa Cruz Board Builders Guild)

OK, even that didn't work!  I stand corrected.

I THOUGHT THAT WOULD  WORK TOO,  I THINK I’VE FOUND SOMETHING THAT WILL WORK. THANKS FOR THE NICE PICTURE!

Your post doesnt say your looking to rent,  pay or remunerate.

Maybe thats the problem.

There are shaping bays for rent in SD by hour/day.

I went throught the archive a bit. You’ve authored posts on this topic in the past.

Moura Surfboards was mentioned.

I’m sure there is more, …you shape if they glass places.

Hey Buddy,

It's not much of a spce to shape in but you're welcome to come out to Allied Gardens and use the garage I shape in.. Give me a shout off line if you want. my email address is brobertson92120@gmail.com... I've cranked out a few boards here and find it suits the purpose ok (not great, but ok)..

Regards,

Bob Robertson

San Diego Shaper HUH? Only a handfull of boards made and your a shaper? I must be a Master Shaper then!!! Im getting cards made tommorrow!!

Wow! Is that sarcasm? Cool! I gotta remember that for the next time I need to offend someone who offers me a no charge place to shape in the future...

Yeah, only a handful of boards here at this location, thank God I've only lived here for 5 months.... I've done a 'few' others in the 33 years since I started shaping.. Thankfully I have a place to shape when the muses come calling.....

And aren't "Master shapers" the guys who run the CAD/CAM machines these days? I wonder if that makes guys like Skip Frye, Bob Mitzven and Steve Seebold Amatures?

Good luck with your ventures. And by the way, my name is Bob Robertson. I've always felt that offering up my name gives me a shred of credibility to what I have to say...

I didn’t realize you needed to shape a certain # of boards before you call yourself a shaper? but anyways where have you been? haven’t heard from ya since surfing heritage forum.

No matter how innappropriate it may be, some people just can't resist the urge to be a douche bag...

I’m willing to bet that this was directed to only one person, the original poster of this thread: "San Diego Shaper looking to use…'.

Looks like Beebeboards is of limited exp, …me too.

Surfing Heritage Forum huh? Maybe you are mistaking me with someone who actually gives a whit.. As for being a "shaper", please educate me on the process please, I SO want to be a "SHAPER" some day. Maybe when I get a little older and wiser, just like you..

I agree wholeheartedly.... I bet he even wears Pukka shells and calls everyone "DUDE"........ So much for trying to be nice and helpful.. It's no wonder the sport has "changed" so dramatically over the years. Maybe I should be investing in Day Glo neon and Peroxide......

Well before the brouhaha, I was working on this…

I’ll post it anyways.

Its should be applauded  to help someone out~ but I’m talking in a
good samaritan christian way…help with a basic need of life–food, directions, etc.

Personally, I would feel somewhat comfortable in
offering something to someone who has had a normal, somewhat extended
internet presence here.

Not someone who has had very few posts and
all them spaced out over many years, and all of them asking for
something and in this particualar case

a bold dryly worded request
for something free.

I’m just saying…be careful . Your dealing
with a complete stranger. This is not advised in this predominantly
litigious society.

Just my 2cents. Over and out.

damn you guys need to calm down  i personally know neptune and i’m pretty sure it was meant as a joke towards ME. And Mr Robertson i am very thankful you offered your space, i was replying to my friends post chill out!

For lack of a better word................. BINGO!!! You hit the nail on the head, plus I have to remember just how self important some of "us" surf folk can be... Nothing like a little "localism" on the Internet huh! Makes me wonder just how many beat downs it takes before someone starts lashing out at complete strangers on design forums such as this... There SHOULD be more of a brotherhood here, but call me the eternal optimist.... Or maybe it's just like that old saying about one bad apple spoiling the whole basket..................

I've never believed in the actions of others dictating my own actions but in this case, I think I can make an exception... I don't think I'll be making another offer like that anytime soon...

Blow me!

PS. Learn to spell!

Very funny thread…I can imagine the email exchange or personal messages between the thread postings.
