Sanding gloss coat so not to burn through pins or panels.

Hello Swaylockians,  When you do resin pinlines and color panels there is a little bump in the gloss where the pinline is.  How do you sand the gloss so that you dont burn through the gloss where the pinlines are? Are soft pads better for sandin the gloss in these areas?  I will be polishing the board too so any suggestions would rock!  Sorry if this has already been discussed in other threads but I could find a definate answer.  Thanks

Double gloss.

Otherwise, go slow.

Don’t spend too much time in one place.

Most resin panels are double glossed for a little extra protection.

Softer pad near edges and med. for flats.

Good Luck.

Thanks Barry.  Your advice about light sanding my dirty hotcoat before the gloss was awesome.  worked out great and no issues.  Thanks again.

Hey Barry, What is a double gloss coat? Gloss the board, sand the gloss, and then re-gloss?
