Quick question. Hot coated the deck with sanding resin of course. I taped the mid-rail line instead of just wrapping around the rails. When I go to hot coat the bottom, I will overlap the tape line over the deck hot coat line. Just wondering if I need to sand the deck tape line before bottom hot coat because of the wax left on the surface. Will the bottom hot coat not bond at the line if there is a layer of wax in the way?
No need to sand.
Just another idea.
But i hotcoat without tape. Put the edge and seal coat in with lam first. Then hotcoat the bottom working the drips into the rail.
Flip Just after its gelled and your deck filler will bond to it. I rekon the build up of the resin on the rail sands out better.
Thanks! Big help
I hotcoat deck with no tape. When I do the bottom I lightly scuff the rails with red scotchbrite then tape off and shoot bottom hotcoat. It only takes a minute. maybe overkill but WTF. are any of you glassing ten boards a day?
