anyone here ever tried post-lamination sanding using the above gadget? how’d it turn out?
a brand-new unit is being sold at nearly 60% off, given my budget i’m considering getting it as a sander alternative if it works as good as the ‘proper’ tools you guys use for the job.
Porter Cable makes a nice random orbit as well. If a guy is having trouble with swirl marks and scratches on a sanded hotcoat they are a good tool to use on the last pass or grit. A palm sized random orbit can also be used with a 3M pad to burnish the sealer or "secret sauce" on a sanded board. I use the fine white pads. Just lay it down on the board and put my palm size down on the pad. No attachment necessary. The Porter Cable can also be fitted for polish. Saw one at Lowes the other day for $99. Can't go wrong with Porter Cable quality.
