sanding problem need help

I’ve been sanding a board and I started with 80 grit then 120, 220 and last I used 320. Problem is I can’t get rid of the swirl marks from the 320. How do I fix this problem.

I wouldn’t worry so much about it if the board was white but this is a day glow pink board!! SWEET!!!

Why can’t you get rid of the swirl marks from the 320?

How did you get rid of the swirl marks from the 220?

Go to 400, and then 600.

thanks Bill

Howzit Adam, The trick I use is keep using the same piece of sand paper, as it wears down it will take out the swirls and even kind of polish the board. Or like said before just use a finer grit paper till you don’t see any more swirls.Aloha,Kokua

Hey Adam30,

Try cutting your sandpaper like this with multiple sharp corners instead of a circle. Make the paper slightly bigger than the Power Pad diameter. The random sharp corners won’t leave swirl marks.

but, wait…what does he use to get the 600’s swirl marks out!?

‘‘Quick, Watson, get the 800 grit!’’ …Sherlock Holmes

…happens that 800 grit sometimes is equal to 600 grit; depends on the brand, type and most important, the other letters and numbers in the sandpaper (normally you find a P letter when the system is the one that contains 800 grit)
