My understanding of sanding is to remove a thin layer of whatever the substrate may be. In this case resin. So you start with a medium pad and 100 grit and knock down any little bits on the way. Next you go to a soft pad and 120 grit right? Or should I go back to my medium pad and something like 220 grit instead? I want to remove another thin layer from my resin and take out those previous scratch marks with it. If I am accurate enough should I continue with my medium pad or should I start with a hard pad for rough sanding and then go to a medium pad? Some of you sanders out there are far more accurate with a stiffer pad than I am. Should I just follow the norm or can something better be achieved with something different? I will try it myself but I’m not due to do some more sanding for a couple of weeks. Any advice in the meantime would be appreciated.

there you have all you need to sand technique
and better go with harder pad finer grit than softer with coarser grit
except for the laps if you hot coat them with the deck hot coat
