Sandwich question.

I’m on my first attempt to make a balsasandwich, and have a question about the glass.

I’ve got two different weights of glass…4 oz and 6oz. I’d really like to use 4oz for both interior and exterior but dont have enough of it, so where should I put the 6oz glass, interior or exterior?

exterior as the most benefit is to be gained there (more protection from heel dents)

whats up Jimmy? how thick is the balsa? I’m no expert but, yes, heavier glass on the exterior is best. 4oz for the exterior works and it’ll be real tough. To save weight and resin a lighter weave for the interior would be nice though… I think I’ve got some extra 2oz if you want.

The balsa is 3 mm thick, and have decided to go 4oz interior.

And thanks for your offer, but I’ll try the 4 oz 6 oz combo this time just to see how things goes. Hope to see you this summer if you’re still in aomori.
