you’ve got to look at the results of your scale factor and decide if that will work. for instance, scaling down a 10 footer to an 8 footer, would give you a scale factor of 67%. if you use that factor on your width of say, 23", you would get a 14.5" wide 8 foot surfboard, which wouldn’t be very functional. look in the archives for loehr’s response, probably the most usable scaling procedure. good luck.
Everything is scaled by straight scale EXCEPT for the outline. In that case you add or subtract 1/8th inch for every inch you are adding or subtracting. It’s based on a mathmatical curve using traditiomal measurements.
