Scored some scrap wood.

I stumbled upon a demolished house and grabed 6 4x6 pine beams. They have a few nails in them but will clean up nice when I cut the rocker out of them. I figured I would take a stab at the more traditional method of wooden board building, but I still have a few other projects going on, so it my be a while before I get going on this one.

Have any of you guys salvaged wood in this matter? I am intrested to see if the nail holes will show up after I cut out the rocker.

…this post is just a collective mass of interconnected thought…

I’m working on the same thing… haven’t done much besides cut rocker yet though.

I figure it’ll kinda look like an old fence.

Rhino, when you saw/sand the pine lumbers, save the sawdust. The finer, the better. Then mix with white (Elmer’s?) glue, you’ll get some fine filler that will be the exact same color as the wood, in case you need to fill some nail holes.

Yeah, I saw this thing on TV where this company pulled these logs out of a river up by the great lakes because they were old growth (They sunk when logs were being floated down) and that their wood was better than anything else.
