We use them on sand only boards for the final touch.>>> aloha …Do you use them on a grinder/sander and/or handsand use? just wondering? I use them by hand, but I am thinking about using them on a low RPM wheel. Herb.

Low speed on soft pad for deck and bottom, by hand on rails. Follow up with Gel Gloss (in purple can). They almost look like they’ve been glossed. aloha

Herb: What are you using for your acrylic washes? Technique for using it? Brandname? Thanks, Tom. P.S. finished and delivered a modified “fish” design. Got a rave review from the new owner/close friend of mine. A 7’2" taken from a 7’11R blank, had to float 225lb. basketball player frame and work like a 6’2". I’ll post it to boards later this week. Still applying some of the formulas you passed to me. Also I chased a guy down last summer on the side of the road in Cabo who had a 7’? looking fish tied in the back if his truck. He was more than happy to tell me about it. Turned out to be 15 yr. old Frye. Interesting bottom and rail templates, no paper or ruler so I worked off mental notes. The “big fish” that works is an elusive creature. Thanks!

Go to smart&final they sell acrylic floor sealer by the gallon,or you can go to your local supermarket and get Future floor acrylic in a …like 16oz. bottle.WIPE IT ON WITH A CLOTH! One thin coat is all you need. LET IT DRY,then go over it with a scotch brite pad.Now this is for sandfinishes. It gives the board a better seal and reduces fingerprinting etc.Herb…oh yea big fish are nothing new to me I’VE BEEN BUILDING THEM FOR OVER 20 YEARS.When I first started building them people would laugh at me and say that they wouldn’t work,NOW MOST EVERYONE IS TRYING TO BUILD THEM.I HAVE BUILT THEM AS BIG AS 10’++.Let me know how the washes go for you.Herb.

Hey Guys, The dude who glasses my boards sprays on 3 coats of floor sealant and then rubbes it out with a fine scotch brite. The boards end up with a semi- shine to them and are very slick. Herb, using your advice I have a big fish on the drawing board right now! Scott.

Thanks Herb, I will definitely take you up on your offer!! The board I’m thinking of so far is a 6’10" x 21" with a 15 1/2" nose and a 15" tail, 8" swallow tip to tip. Wide point 1" up from center. outline sorta looks like a G&S magic fish. I have no clue as to what fins or were to place them. Is a 2+1 out of the question? Thanks a ton, Scott.

Thanks a > ton, Scott…No not at all! …I would go 12.5" up on the sides and 5 or 6" up for the box depending on the depth cut of the swallow.Check out the Board folder I have entered some new boards that may give you some ideas.Herb.
