Yea, I agree with what you say about us humans helping offset what we have done to other species, it’s always good to keep a positive optimistic attitude and try to fix our mistakes… it’s just a very fine line, free will is something personal but collective free will is non existant, that is why many pollitical theorist, anthropologists and philosophers believe that caos is the most powerful change maker. In other words we as a species only act when the shit hits the fan… oh and about the cows, I think that if I was one of them whose calfs are taken away at birth and then inmediately enceminated to give more milk, I would rather be dead. What about genetically altered chicken who have their breast so big that they can’t walk. We humans are monsters… but we have free will to change… and we should… change starts at home, education spreads it, caos demands it and karma… well, we get what we need to grow spiritualy…
I studied agribusiness for three years… have even taken classes on poultry management. I have never seen a broiler chicken with breasts so big it can’t walk. I have studied them from egg to slaughter. They are not genetically altered either… rather have been subjected to intense genetic selection which is a far cry from genetically altered
to everyone else…
As I have stated before… I believe that emotion should be left out of the picture in all of these arguments. This is near impossible as proven by the past 7 pages of writing, and facts become skewed in the process. This modern ‘green’ movement is fueled by emotion. I am not saying that some facts presented aren’t true, but many are exaggerated and/or misinterpreted.
Genetic alteration, genetic selection, you are correct, I got confused with the terminology, thanks for the clarification… Anyway, after 3 weeks of eating no beef or chicken, I just had myself a juicy medium cooked burger with blue cheese… I feel like such a hypocrate but hey, after 3 weeks… It was sooo tasty… Yea, pirates or not, live and let live or live and let die, we are only responsible for ourselves and to a certain extent of our offspring… I too agree that this “green” movement is fueled by emotion… Maybe the sapiens sapiens factor of our homo sapien sapiency is not going to help our natural selection process, maybe it will, truth is that we are emotional beings and make many mistakes because of this… Wish we were a bit more like Dr. Spock…

I’m gonna be a pirate,build a pirate ship.because wood is so expensive and it takes a long time to build a ship I will keep it small, 15 feet. Cannon are hard to come by so Ill just use an old single shot shotgun that I have. For a sword, Well I got a couple of old world war two turkish trench knife that gramps left me ! I will not hunt whales cause they are to big to get on my pirate ship,besides I can’t eat a whole one by myself anyway. Ill eat chickens with big breasts, so big that they need bras ! Ill be lean and mean and sail around rapeing and pillaging. Ill fire broadside on any US navy ship that is near. Ill poke fish with a rusty 3 prong sling spear. Ill drink grog and have fun. Ill invite Ambrose to be first mate. We’ll fly the Waipoli yatch club flag just under the jolly rogers. Times will be good , times will be fun !!! Anyone wanna come along ?

Hm. Don’t want to take this thread of track but:
The concept of “Survival of the fittest” has been misunderstood and/or misused since its inception. It is not about the strongest or fittest creature that has the evolutionary edge. That’s more of a short-term advantage. Although in the long run a species will go stronger as only the strongest mate… It’s more about the species that fits best into an ecological niche that will thrive while other, less fitting, members of that species ,or other species, will dissapear. It’s all about adaptation to (changing) circumstances.
And while we may not really impact the planet as a rock, we sure as hell have an enourmous impact on all living creatures that inhabit it. Polution is a far greater threat than global warming CO2. Global warming is just a smokescreen.
