Searching for old info on making an old Lis fish

Hey everyone! Can someone help me out please. I’m searching for a link to a PDF file of an old book will pictures and information on designing a Steve Lis fish. It’s a really old book and I think it was written by TM Mills. I found the info on this site years ago but, can’t find it again. Any help would be great thanks, DC

Don’t feel bad;

I saw your question and was curious myself… and then I saw http://jfmillbiz.home.comcast.net/~jfmillbiz/swaylocks/Surfboard_Design_and_Construction_1977.pdf

and realised “hey, idjit, jfmillbiz happens to be you”… completely forgot it was there.

doc…

That’s the book I used to build my first surfboard as a freshman in high school!

  1. Wow, I’m old.

I can still remember how the pages were filled with foam dust…

Awesome info for beginners! I love History cause all the new techniques in shaping originated from old techniques and who knows when you might stumble upon a gem. Aloha, DC

Howzit DaCheetah, Just spent some time with Steve at a birthday party today. Told him that some one was looking for info on his old shapes, if I remember right you can get in touch with him at lisfish@yahoo.com. Hope I got it right. Aloha,Kokua

Thanks Kokua! How’s the waves in Kauai been lately? Here in Osaka the waves have been flat and I haven’t got to surf at all for 4 months because I don’t like surfing in ice water. LOL! I would love to have another surf at Pine trees one day. My best memory of Kauai was my junior year in high school. Me and my bestfriend told each other one winter when the swell hits 20 feet on the North Shore we would go to Kauai and try to surf Hanalei Bay. That never happened! But we hitch hiked to Majors bay and camped out on the beach that night got bit on the arm by a big blue centipede. The next morning was epic. Then hitch hiked to the break tunnels but, it was to big and nobody out so we ended up surfing the beach break on the inside. I think it was called Pukas. The waves had big barrels that lead straight into dry reef but, some of them you could get out just before. To make a long story short my buddy dared me to pull into one came out to far and got smashed by the lip breaking my shoulder. To me Kauai is like the wild west no wonder why you all love it there. I really envy anyone who lives there. My dream is to retire there but, that won’t happen anytime soon. Aloha, DC

Howzit DaCheetah, Surf on the North shore of Kauai has been rather sketchy this year. Some good swells and bad ones. Not a big year by any means. Yesterday was small and the perdiction for next weeks Long Board Classic contest is not good, seems like it will be flat. Hopefully it won’t be but we also have the next weekend as alternate date for contest. If you plan on retiring here make sure you are financially well off since the cost of living is getting out of sight. Gas at the Princeville Chevron hit $4.03 this week for regular. You lucked out catching Pukas since it is a fickle break.Aloha,Kokua

hey, i liked the pdf a lot. i was wondering; what is the name of the book that the exert is from, id love to find it.
