I’m thinking of making a clear hollow board… The interior framework and exterior skin would be 1/8" clear lexan…The rails would be cork… For structural strength it would be glassed with 4 oz. and epoxy resin… What’cha think???.. Paul

Thats for sure. I say go for it.
better put some bricks in it or it might bounce around like a plastic beach ball.
Paul, I made a set of fins using lexan and ply as you suggested in a earlier post. While cutting the lexan for one of the fins I managed to crack it. While the lexan appears flexiable I think there might be a risk of cracking without good support. Otherwise, your idea sounds great - good luck. Patrick
Paul, Here is a picture you might find interesting. Patrick http://www.swaylocks.com/discussion/archive/index.cgi?read=7290

Howdy, boys!..been a while (heavy work schedule). If I’m not mistaken, Jeff Ching did a partially clear board (foam rails/foam outer deck) back in the early seventies. Anyone remember that? Some stubby stinger - as I recall.
P.S. …I say that we make clear portholes the next fad!
