Ever done this? Customer gives you sort of a generic color (ie. Red), but leaves it up to you to pick the final color tone. Is it “Blood Red” “Fire Engine Red” etc.? No! Not at all. The color you pick looks middle-of-the-road, but turns out to be the alternative you hadn’t thought about. Hot Pink! Soooo! Back to the paint store. Will we make it to the Glass Shop in the morning? Stay tuned. Hd McDing
You can show them a Pantone swatch book to pick the color they want. The trick is matching the swatch with the colors you have on hand. I’ve had people come in with a color swatch they got at a paint store. I’ll send them back to the paint store and have them buy a pint of that color in a latex flat. That way they are the ones mixing the color, not you.
Yeah----I got it squared away. I generally use colors that are so-called typical. But Fiberglass Hawaii was out of those colors. I had forgotten about “Brite Red” that can be purchased at Wal Mart. That took care of it. All the “Depot” colors kept coming back too pink. I an going to have to order and try some of Pantone’s stuff. I had kind off forgotten about them. Mcding
