hi all just wondering has anyone used this product? saw it on tv the other night and they were redoing a fibreglass shower recess that was chipped. the finishing results were looking good! (well as good as the cameras show… ) covered all the chips and cracks with a very smooth surface…
just thinking if it would cut down a process or 2 in building of a board. yes I know it will be a little heavier… and the paint is is dearer.
any experiences before I go ahead and try it on one?
If you are talking about epoxy you can do a cheater coat or technically a filler coat with epoxy after you laminate one side of your board. Once your initial lamination gets just past sticky, you can brush a filler coat of epoxy with a surfacing agent, like additive F, and toatlly fill the weave of the fiberglass. Once you do this to both sides it just needs sanding and your final coat.
I don’t understand how the above product saves any steps. Also I would imagine it is really expensive compared to epoxy surfboard resin.
