Hey All - Or any of you who may know about this company, what do you think?
I stumbled across them on a site - “wetsuit warehouse” - I think. Anyway, they have good prices on 7mm booties, even with shipping, and it looked like they are made in the USA. If anyone here likes 'em, let me know, and how true do the sizes run… I’ve been wearing 11’s in Oneil, QuickSilver, RipCurl, H2O, Excel…
Last winter I met the HyperFlex guys when they did a favor for hackeysaky and took his first Coil back up to NJ. They were in Florida for the trade show and gave sak’s board a truck ride back to Jersey to save the shipping costs. So I can attest that they’re nice guys, and they are actual surfers. I know several guys up there that swear by their suits, and in 35 degree water you’re not going to chat up someone’s product unless it WORKS.
taylor—They are a good suit. Flexible, warm ,reasonably priced and durable. check their dealer list. There are a couple of dealers in Oregon. I think Cannon Beach and one or the other in Seaside. But you would probably do better thru “Wetsuit Warehouse”. Provided you are reasonably sure you can “size” yourself.
i love my 5/4/3 with a hood. best wetsuit ive ever baught and it was priced very well. comfortable, and very warm.
i havent tried their booties or gloves but with my current setup of oneil 3mm gloves, which keep my hands toasty warm even in a january nj, and my xcel 3mm booties, which are not warm at all. i think i might get their 5mm booties so i can go all winter.
i was out january 8th at seaside heights nj. i was in the water for about 2-3 hours with just my feet getting numb.
I love my hyperflex. I have a 4/3 and I try to tell all of my friends to get one. I bought mine from wetsuit warehouse and since they our in delaware, it was delivered to me in two days ( I live in VA). I would buy one again. I did notice they fit me just a little tight but then I realized I was out of shape. The rubber around the neck is so smooth I keep checking to see if anything is covering my neck. Get one.
Can’t speak highly enough about the suits and of the people running the company. My friends and I are phasing out everything else and switching to Hyperflex (the quality-for-price makes it a no-brainer). If you want to hear my ramblings on the subject, you can check out my review at www.eastcoastsurfer.com (I’d copy and paste but I don’t want to hog space or come off too spammy here).
Just checked, and I received an email saying my order was good and gone, so… I’ll let y’all know as soon as I try 'em out.
One thing of interest, concern: On the HyperFlex web site, they described the boot as having 7mm stretch uppers, and 5mm soles, so you could feel the board, but the didn’t call it stretch, so I hope it isn’t, because; some of the rock reefs I surf take a toll on booty soles, esp. that supper stretch stuff… On the way in/out, caught/washed was inside, I use my feet alot… pounded on the rock/muscle/urchin, try to not/move, so that stretchy stuff gets beat down fast… I know, I know, I’ve ranted about this all before… I mention it too, because HyperFlex has thick gloves they mention is not made out of stretch neo - but I dont’ remember if they’re covered in nylon… at least in the palm… What, like my hands don’t end up on those same reefs some times… Ha! And the soft palms… don’t get me started, don’t even get me started…
