Any tips out there on setting glass on fins? I try to avoid using any tape in setting the toe and cant on my fins. The tape is such a pain in the ass to work with, or maybe I’m doing it wrong. I currently use the putty I got from fcs and use a little of it on the back of the fin, set the toe and cant, then take a little suncure and put it on the front tip, let it kick , then remove the putty. Then I can do the glass lay up on the fins without tape. Does anyone have any easier methods? I’m using 18oz boat cloth (separated of couse) for fin rope, a half patch of cloth from the base to the middle of the fin and a whole patch over that. The bottoms of the glass patches are cut at an arch (or half circle) and extend a few inches out past the base of the fin to the bottom of the board. Thanks for any tips, I have only done a handful of glass ons. Most of my boards have had fcs or fin boxes.
