Shaping bay ventilation

Can anyone help with ventilation of my shaping bay. I’d like to have some good air coming in but send the exhaust through a filter or into a shop vac with hepa filter or??? Can’t have dust shooting into the neighborhood and all. How about a good width to keep the lights close but still have room to work?? I got some good advice on blanks the other day - Mahalo’s to all. C

In another recent post, Bill BARNFIELD said that the commonly accepted shaping-room width should be 8’. Enough for circulating around the blank without being dazzled by the side lamps.

Howzit, I built a hole in the end wall to fit a 20 x 20" box fan, and placed a 24 x 24" furnace/ac filter (3M filtrete) facing the inside of the room, and have the fan sucking air to the outside. sucks it all to the filter, and is strong enough to feel the air moving around. after a few boards, brush off the foam part of the filter and good to go! costs about $30 for both. NO dust suspended when its on!!

I once tuned a 9’ wide bedroom into a temporary shaping room. I’d say that any room between 8’-9’ would be ideal. I wouldn’t go wider that 9’ wide.
