I’m in the final stages of finishing a brand-new shaping/glassing room in my garage. I already have 8-ft flourescent side lights. Just need to decide on ceiling lights. What’s most effective? I’ll be shaping, glassing, sanding, etc. in the same room. I will have switches for all lights independently.
I have four bulb four foot fixtures overhead. The older I get, the more light I need. The two bulb eights will work, just have enough to cover whatever lengths you work on. It is a MUST to have seperate switches. Depends on how high the lid in your shop is also.
I shape and glass in the same room and I run 8ft top and side florescent lights but all single bulb; works fine; what doesnʻt work fine is cleaning all the foam dust before glassing; I do it cause it feels better without the dust and foam rubbish; but my glassing still comes out shitty anyway; oh well, one board at a time!!!

maybe when you clean it up it is unsettling all the dust and making it airborne again which is affecting your glass job. maybe if you clean it and then wait a day for it all to settle again the dust won't be an issue. I know in my bay the air is dustiest straight after I have swept it (apart from when i'm sanding of course)
Also have exhaust fan ducted to outdoors, and have heat/AC supply coming in from central AC to control temps (I live in NJ so heat is important in winter).
