A while back I remember a post about “how fast can you turn a board out from start to finish” or something like that…I was sitting down last night watching a hotcoat cure (fun, fun) and was thinking about it. Someone said they could start at 8:00am and have the board ready by 5:00pm on the same day…How long do you guys wait before sanding your hotcoat, and how long do you wait until you sand your gloss coat? I was doing some Acid Splahes/Abstract resin tints on some big pieces of foam last night and I decided I’d try and “rush” one to see what would happen. I did a resin splash in the lam coat, let it kick and sit for about 5 minutes, then hotcoated it, let it kick and sanded with 150 about 20 minutes later…I then immediately glossed it and let it sit overnight. I thought for sure it would get ugly or screwed up during the process, but it looks awesome. I gues sanding/polishing the gloss is the major time consumer huh?
