Shaping Price

Hey guys, I was wondering what I can expect the final price tag to be after purchasing all the things I will need to complete my board. I am thinking a 9’6" standard longboard, nothing fancy. I was thinking a single, non glass in fin, a single stringer (probably the cheapest decent wood type). If anyone could give me an approximation, from experience, I would appretiate it. Thanks.

I just picked up a similar nine footer. Final price of blank, tools, and glassing came to around $300.00. (I am a bargain hunter, you could easily spend this much on new tools.)

Alex: This depends on where you are located and how accessible the materials are. For a single board, no quantity breaks and non-specialty supplier access: Blank=$95.00 (+/- $20. for shipping, stringers, special features) Resin=$20.00/gallon Cloth=$3.50/yard (9’6" is 10 yds.+, or by the 125 yd. roll much cheaper) Fin- $25.00 Sand Paper= $6.00 per board Razor Blades- $1.00 Masking Tape-$5.00 (3/4" and 1 1/2") Acetone= $7.50/gallon Wax Solution= $7.00/ Qt. UV Catalyst= $4.00/gallon Paper Tubs= $3.00 Tape measure- Scissors- Respirator- $25.00 (3M 6000 Organic- must have!) Planer- rental/borrow Sureform-$12.00 Racks/Sawhorses- Lights- Tunes- Beer(s)- (skip this if underage or you are using UV Cure Resin) Surely I missed something but that will get you started.
