Hey, looks like Damascus finally got the vids out…changed the > website too… $59.95>>> www.DamascusProductions.com Congrats to Jim Phillips for a job well done…it took alot of work but the video is out.I have my copy and it blew me away, your stash of tools and homemade sanding blocks got me going…I am copying every one of them especially the “shaping paddle”.You saved my ass on the segment about shaping multiple stringer blanks.I have “Shaping 101” and I liked it a lot, yours is more detailed and no matter how many times I replay the two hour segment I get new insight.I can’t think of any shaper on the planet that would be willing to give up his tricks like you have.Mahalo Jim and thanks a lot.
a brave man to show everyone the right way to do it. thanks jim when can we expect the glassing vid???
How do we order the video from the web site?
Hey, looks like Damascus finally got the vids out…changed the > website too… $59.95>>> www.DamascusProductions.com Lets see, something close to a half a century of board building knowledge, not just some mere how-to video, but true journeyman knowledge acquired from building thousands of boards in any number of locales for just about every (if not every) surfing niche in the world for $59.95? (What’s that, the cost of a pair of pants?) They’re giving it away at that price… I ordered one… I suggest others consider the doing the same… before they realize the real value of what they’ve got. Kevin
Noticed that the DVD was selling for $115 compared to the $60 for the VHS, does the DVD have bonus material since it is almost twice the price? I want to make the purchase and prefer DVD but for that much more I will go with VHS if the material covered is the same. Thanks, Mike

Both VHS and DVD seem to have the same play time, but there is mention (on the site) of an extra bit on the DVD where Phillips discusses design… if its true, its likely worth the wait… however, I am weak and need all the help I can get… now. Kevin

Kevin, use your CIA satellite link to bounce a signal off Damascus and > extract the entire contents from the hard drive, you’ll get even more > footage. I’m way ahead of you Jim, I’ve even got the footage of you with those three midget women (excuse me, ‘little people’) doing strange things with honey and whip cream back in the 70’s (… which I’ll be selling on-line soon. Sorry, but when you go Hollywood, you’ve got to know its all going to come out… just ask Pamela Anderson.) Kevin … but in the meantime, I’m looking foreward to whatever I get… like I said in a prior posting… at $59.95, you’re giving it away…
At the moment the tape it’s only available in NTSC system… we here in Europe use the PAL system, i hope the guys soon will have on sale a PAL system version, or maybe the DVD version, what ever comes first. Hey Jim, are there some photos of your shapes in any web site? I’d like to see some of your shapes, a friend of mine talk to me that they are very nice. Good waves, Coque.
…don’t forget to do PAL versyons of this footage… Coque

My next door neighbor has a 9’ 8" (I believe its a stepdeck) w/ “Jim Phillips” written on the bottom… It’s such a nice shape it MUST be from the same guy! I’d be happy to post a picture of it this weekend.
