Nothing yet. That will be down the road a bit I think.

Sharpen or change the blades? My blades are definately not razor sharp, but if i go slow they still cut fine. Maybe slow down? What foam digger?

hey beerfan, think I will just try to slow down a little bit, im a impatient bugger and want everything completed yesterday.  Not going to be using the planner for a bit now and think I need to fix a few things on it anyway, have a idea in mind.

Aloha huie:

The Accurate Planer is awesome, I had them dial mine in by adding a grit drum to it, now I’m in heaven with that planer. So much better than any of my Skil planers. It is so smooth to operate and has heaps of power.

Everything about this planer speaks quality and it is just a joy to use especially with a grit drum in it. It is like shaping on ice the way the planer just glides across the foam. The control mechanism is so smooth compared to a Skil.

But the big deal with this planer is the power, it is a 7.5amp and runs at almost twice the RPM of the Skil so if you are using blades this means less tearing and this thing flies through stringers.

In fact, I liked it so much I got another one with a longer custom length bed on it, including a cute tiny little swallowtail, and also with a grit drum installed.

They also came out with a really cool dust chute for the planer, which they actually sell for Skil planers as well.

Here are a couple of photos.

…hello Hand shaper,

how do you obtain those pro pictures?

and how do you isolate the item pictured on the black back?

thanks

hey Huie,

you can use a 110-240 adaptor  with the right Watts too

I did this on one of my H-Clarks

I didn’t actually take those photos but I do ones like it all the time. What I have is a large piece of flat black cloth that I drape behind whatever I’m shooting. I try to get as few wrinkles as possible. Then once I have the photos I take them into either Photoshop or Aperture and I adjust the “black point” to the max setting, this makes the black background go completely black without changing the rest of the image. I use this technique for shooting photos of my fins when they are installed in boards, works great! The cloth is large enough that I can also use it to shoot photos of boards. The key I have found is to have a big enough piece of cloth so that you can fold it and have it a couple of layers thick so no light can pass through it!

I’m about to shoot some more photos of the planer in the photos, as I just got it this week, but I will be shooting these against a gradient background in a light tent, will post a few when they are done!

…hello man, thanks for the response.

Still don t know where to find that button in the photoshop, may be mine is too old.

Hand-shaper, Cool planer. I want one. How is that drum when it hits the stringer. My drum on my Hitachis some times kinda clogs. Just wondering if more RPM’s helps.

Also, is that a set screw on the top of that dust shute? My buddy, Angry James welded one from steel for my Skil. Works killer!

Keep that planer working.

I’m a hand-shaper too!

My only surfboard file is a metal one.
