i could be wrong but i think the classic northshore Willis brothers duo > shaped boards a few years ago with that exact idea, a dimpled bottom ala’ > a golf ball. no idea how they worked but thought it was a creative > experiment. Yeah,Scott Anderson at Aqua Tech (Venice beach,Ca.)made s slew of longboards in the eighties with this bottom.I am not sure how they worked though.The theory seems correct-One of my favorite boards is full of small(quarter to fifty cent piece) size dents on the bottom and I feel like because of those it goes even faster than it use to and its a 15 year old board!
