Share your ideas with me please!

I have recently aquired a Clark 8’3"E (supergreen) with a custom rocker -1/2" nose and + 1/2" Tail (4 15/16" N and 3" Tail). I’m open to ideas for board style, dimensions, fin set up etc.

who’s gonna be riding it?..height? weight? experience?

what kinda waves is this thing gonna be put in??

(if you can get a ridiculous amount of money for the blank…sell it)

Its always the most important details I overlook! I’m 6’3", 180lbs, always wear a 5mm wetsuit, average ability, surf mostly mushy beach break head high and under, several boards in my quiver to cover that. I occasionaly surf hollow reef and point breaks. Every now and then the beach goes double overhead. Huge holes in my quiver to cover these conditions. Looking for some creative input, because without I’d end up shaping another fish or funboard!

Mike Eaton would recommend keeping that blank less than 24" wide and 3 1/4" thick.

Just a suggestion:

I’m not too satisfied with the rocker line (especially the deck line), but that’s just a rough sketch. That should allow enough volume for your weight/height while maintaining some ability to handle a little bit of size. I would go with a single-fin box + side-bites.

balsa you really like those pin tail longer boards don’t you?

How the hell did you guess?

I dunno i just had a hunch.

What about a Stubby? We’ve got the TSJ-Stubby thread going. This could be the counterpart project. There’s some Paul Gross input in the resources;

Wow balsa that outline looks sexy! thanks for the suggestion. gonna make the template tonight!

hey man where’d you get that blank up here?

is it a private deal or did you find a supplier with leftovers?

A prospective girlfriend had bought it in California years ago, had it stored in her ex’s basement in langley. She brought it over on the ferry last week for me. If your looking for poly-eurathane blanks Fiberglass supply in Vic is carrying excell foam. Little hard to get a hold of seeing as how their building burnt down. Delivery only unfortunately.

That’s a good deal. Ya, I’ve used Fibreglass supply before, but I was wondering if you had some secret place or retiring shaper or something like that where you had got it… Where you at? Tofino? That place has a sweet skatepark… spent an epic day there in February when the surf was choss…
