Sharing hull rocker progression numbers

For all of you guys riding and building hulls I’d love if you could post up some rocker progression numbers and pics of your beloved hulls.
6" 12" 18" 24" is good… more detail even better.

I noticed you have two questions with no responses. What is it exactly you want to know? A hulled board has the same center rocker (along the stringer) as most, only a little flatter at times. It is all personal preference. Tail rocker tends to flatten out more than a standard board and the rail rocker established by the hull increases it until the last third where the rail hardens and creates the slight Vee in the tail. Ask more pointed questions on what you want to find out so you can get what you are looking for.

A wise man once told me pay more attention to the curve than the numbers. Just sayin’. It seems to me that rocker numbers are not that meaningful without knowing the length. Also, don’t neglect to use the search function to access the archives, there has been discussion on “hull” design in the past.

One thing I’ve noticed is that hull rockers vary a fair bit by shaper, with Liddle hulls appearing noticeably flatter than Andreini or Hilbers’ hulls.

I know theres a million ways to get from 0 to 4 or 0 to 1, but having numbers for the progression helps. Sometimes people forget what it was like to learn a craft. The eye is developed over time in the mean time numbers are a good temporary crutch.
Thanks daddy thats the type of additional info that actually helps. I read somewhere, I think written by Kirk Putnam, that the Clark 8’1 B was ideal for pulling a hull out of due to its rocker. Cant find specs on that, but chances are its in some new form through US blanks.

I dont know if this “actually helps” you or not, but for flatter rockers you can order custom rockers from US Blanks, or you can use a longer blank and cut it down to end up with less rocker. Also some of the blanks come in an X version meaning extra thickness, and those have an extra margin for creating your own rocker.

I have a pdf of one of the old Clark catalogues, dated 10/1998 and superceding the 1995 edition. It doesn’t include an 8-1b. However, it does include an 8-9b, a 9-4b and a 9-7b.

Hmmm not sure. I read it on the displacementia blog, and it was actually written by Paul Gross

3.5" nose, 1" tail.

Liddle told me 3.5" nose, 1.5" tail, It’s all how you get there, though
