Shawd Dewitt at Rainbow Fin Company

Shawd, my brother who runs production here at Rainbow Fin Co, had a surfing accident on December 7th right out here in front of our shop.  He went in for a tube and came out on his head into the sandbar.  Luckily he was surfing with a buddy and a friend checking the surf, who helped get his neck immediately stabilized and with help got him to the beach using his surfboard as a backboard.  They airlifted him to a hospital over in San Jose.  He broke his neck at C6 and C7 with a bone chip.  He is very lucky to not have any paralysis and his surgery to repair his neck went very well.  His neck is healing but he has been having set backs with complications of just having surgery and has been in and out of the hospital since Friday.  He is there now.

Some people have asked for an address to send a card to Shawd.  Please feel free to send your cards to the business address below and I will get them dropped off to him.

I do try to make sure that all your calls, emails and stop by's are passed off to him.  This had ment so much to him in knowing how much love he has around him and that people want him to get better and back to doing what he does so well.  I truelly believe that this has helped him in his recovery .

We appreciate all the calls and emails from everyone to see how he is doing and your support.  The Surfing community, family and friends have been amazing in the support and love that has been shown to Shawd and us.  We are very grateful for this and appreciate everything.

Sincerely,
