Every once in a while I re-read my old “Surfboards” book by Shaw and wish I had had the foresight to buy some of the patterns for the spin templates shown. Anyone know if they can be found anywhere?
I have an old set that I never used. I found that taking them off of modern boards was much better and my templates were better drawn. Anthony http://www.viser.net/~anthwind/
I know you’re right, but a couple of those old outlines just look cool to me. I didn’t realize the book was still in print. Can you still buy the patterns?
Transmedia Publishing has them available through there web site. http://www.transmediapublishing.com/ See other products. http://www.viser.net/~anthwind/
about 12 years ago I brought the book and 1 template, for a thruster. it´s made in blue paper and the line is about 3/8´´ width. the outline draw was really bad and i trash it…
One of our planed “activities” at S.A. East is a templet swap. Bring some of your favorite templets (to be traced by others) or tracings of them and swap with others. I have swaped templets with Keith Melville and its good to see what other peolpe are doing. If other guys would like to swap templets just e-mail each other and go for it. Even if you don’t use the whole templet you can still use the curves from various shapes and come up with a shape of your own.
