shipping from indo to calif

Anybody know a good courier for shipping from indonesia to california?  I may have a line on some balsa if I can get it over here cheaply enough.  thanks!

I suspect you will have to buy a full shipping container to make it worthwhile and whatever it is, it's certainly something other then true balsa as balsa wood is native to South America.

Don't know why you'd bother shipping "balsa" from Indo to CA when you can get perfectly good real balsa from this hemisphere at any decent lumber yard right here; that is unless you DO need a container full of falsa............

Dear unclegrumpy Baltec the largest balsa company in the world has several very big balsa plantations in indonesia and it is the same as the balsa from south america but you are right the shipping would need to be by the container and you need to hire an import broker. The only other way is to team up with a indo furniture exporter and have the balsa shipped in one of his containers. Fed ex can ship any size and provide broker services but it is very ,very expensive .If you want an estiment on the Fed ex you can go to their web sight get there international shipping number and call them. You need to give them the demensions and if it is on a pallet and the weight and they will give you the shipping code. Once you have the shipping coed you give them the port shipped from and port of entry and whether it is delivered or picked up at a terminal. I have done this from Vietnam and it is not cost affective.Better off you buy a unit or 2 from a lumber broker in california. If you have a business lic. they will sell to you but only by the unit .

Thanks for keeping me informed.

…the Asian balsa is not the one with the best quality; normally used to build larger boxes for AC units, etc
