I knew it was a lake, as soon as I saw the first picture.
The surf is inconsistent and generally weak enough where I live. I think I’d commit suicide if my only option for waves was a lake.
One of my two favorite breaks on LBI in NJ. I was up until 1 AM digging my driveway out from the huge snowstorm that caused these waves just to be able to leave first thing and get these all to myself. Worth it? Absolutely. Looking at some of your home breaks makes me a little jealous, seeing world-class waves minutes away from some of you. But I love those days, like the one posted above, in NJ when it all comes together.
I hate it when I know there’s waves, and the snow is just too deep to drive until the plows do their job.

Do people realize the level of the comedy around here. So I was at my favorite grocery store, and as I was walking by the milk case, there were two overweight squatty-bodies and the one was tuning in the other on how it’s done: “Esta es free, y esta tambien, pero esta no es free”. See? That’s where you are wrong. While I may be an East Coast guy who gained some knowledge through the media, I have been a student of surf history for over 4 decades. I have been surfing for 48 years.
Add to that my time working as a glasser for a small EC outfit, and a few decades doing ding repairs for $$, and I can be secure in what I have done, and the stuff I’ve learned from hands on experience.
You are still carrying a grudge over that Griffin thing. Instead of replying to specific questions I asked, you took the low road and resorted to name calling and insults. Is your life that miserable that you cannot engage in a discussion without being civil?
I also like the way you accused me of seeking out a certain person via the web. Wrong again. By mere coincidence, he and I have mutual friends and I met him at a BBQ. He’s quite a character and has some great stories to tell.
Do you remember “Doc”, who used to post here? He can vouch for my integrity. We are good friends and share knowledge mutually.
