I am not married. I was a long time ago. I now have a girlfriend who is quite a bit younger than me and very beautiful. She does wonders for my outlook and self esteem.

I haven't seen that beach that good at either end this summer. I guess I am just there at the wrong times. In fact it has been just short of crappy most of the summer. The next time you go down there let me know what day. My luck has been $#!tty. Maybe going with you will improve it. I don't know how to post pics. But my spot is the spot that made the cover of Longboard Magazine four or five times over the years and captioned by photog. Barbour as "Monterey Bay".

I live in Bakersfield. Landlocked, drydocked, inland Bakersfield California (after many good years of living in Ventura). Onetime home of Buck Owens, R.I.P. But we still have two surf shops (wavelengths and hoggs), one skate park, and one surf-themed restaurant. It ain't all bad, as long as you have wheels and gas money! Where do you surf when you live in Bakesfield? Here's a few spots I frequent:
i like going surfing, making surfboards, and talking about surfboards. Can’t we all just get along? Both you guys are helpful- in your own ways. Who care who knows more. Tell us stories about the classic times at your classic spots. Please do not abuse, but amuse. Life is too short for the BS; although a degree of tension is good and keeps everyone in check. Keep it real, and make it unreal. East coast is the least coast, and the West is the best; Ok, got to keep the tension.

Howzit grat, I'm glad you said that since I was about to write the same thing to them and we don't have the time to read that kind of junk here since it has no place here. I am actually surprized the thread hasn't been locked by the moderators yet. When this kind of crap starts I just stop reading the thread and I find that is the easy fix. This thread is on the verge of being closed due to it’s degenerated nature. If the back and forth continues, it will be shut down. FWIW, We still moderate manually, meaning humans reading threads and making decisions. There’s a lot of threads here and only a few humans. So i think you could cut us some slack – or help out by notifing one of us.
In the near future, I’m considering installing an “alarm bell” of sorts that people can ring to notify us of something getting out of hand…

This is a great thread, fun to share the pix with friends who are crazy about all things surf and with with pictures, great thread. Justification for design and build is in the pix of my fav spot showing the need for durable travel boards resistant to rock hit damage. Moderators, can we delete indivudual entries instead of locking whole threads? If that's more of a headache for you guys forget it, do the simple solution, another picture thread can get going again.
