Money and Abs = chick magnet (m+a = cm)
Money no Abs = a bit of a chick magnet (m-a = <cm)
No money and No Abs = 0 (-m-a = 0) That’s the formula I currently apply!

did a bit of prone stuff, as well as stand up on this eps blank the other day…my grommy had a blast on it too…it snapped on the 2nd wave when I shuffle forward too quickly and the thing flexed too much…as stringerless blanks can do with 77 kgs on them…its a 7’9" x 20 ish x 2 1/2 ish. ( til I snapped 2ft off )…went well and was fun standin up but really had fun doing spins on my guts, plus was doing these things where I would spin the board under me from nose to tail, did it about 5 times on one wave, never even thought of doing it before…fun was had…someone had left a cane couch on the beach, so sat there for a shot and checked the waves…tiny but clean and fun for some different boards…no action shots coz we were both surfing and having fun…
Broken board might still do the trick, bit of shaping required.
Have you ever made a 3’9" (45") version of your “DUMPLING” That in my opinion would be a killer bellyboard. Quad and 5
and ...tell me about the single fin , please , mark ?!

Aint that the truth, if you followed every idea, there isnt enough hours in a lifetime to see where they go.
Of course one of those might lead to fame and fortune but which one ?
Just got back from India and saw that 99% of paper bags in retail shops are folded newspaper pages with a lick of glue. Brilliant. If youve got staff standing round for a few hours each day scratching their arses, get them to fold the bags and save on buying paper bags. Youre not making money but youre saving thousands every year.
wont bother reshaping it, rode fine as it was after the nose snapped off, assymetrical square tail mini-simmons if you turned it around…haha
The single is a 5’3" Chuck Audris that I got from a Sydney guy, I do the surf report up here and he ilaso works for Swellnet, he heard I was lookin for a short single for my grommy for a few retro comps…I got it for $50, my grommy is using it tomoz in a comp, he has a good mate of mine in his heat ( also a team rider of mine ), funny to think someone I grew up surfin and partyin with is going to compete against my son, makes me feel old but its cool, hope they both get thru…rambling here arent I…haha…the single is 5’3" x 19" x 2 1/2", great for my son , bit short and under volumed for me though…bugger…
Havent made a shorter Dumpling, 5’4" is the shortest so far…but I would be amped to make MORE belly boards, have dabbled with a few over the years but always keen to do MORE of anything a little different…
One with a big arse carbon flex tail would be interesting.
I AGREE , , cuttley !
do it , mark ! [please ?!]
cheers

Hi Ben. I see Josh's van at macs occasionally. You know it's his because he has Johnny something written on it. I have'nt surfed Avoca for about 10 /12 years. Too busy, everyone is surfing for sheep stations. I see Oldy pretty regularly. I have'nt had it in the water yet. platty.

I always thought my bellyboards were a bit of a side line, till this one guy bought one and came back with people he met on the beach and bought another 14 of them. That was all I had and I sold 8 as well. Then I got into mortgage dificulty, nothing to do with the board business, but the type of mortgage. Couldn't make boards for a while.
The same person went to Noosa (for a weekend) and rang me to see if there was any way I could make boards because if he had them at Noosa he could sell another 5 or more.
Your up that way. I know if you make a 3'9" (45") dumpling and promote it on your site, it will sell. Same characteristics, same fin position from the tail, same width, same thickness, just shorter.
I went to a beach one morning and there were 7 of my bellyboards in action and some of the riders weren't the buyers, (there parents were) so they didn't know me. And I remember this 17 year old kid (who was a great rider) running past me each time he came in, so seriously thinking what he could do on the next wave. He couldn't wait to get out there again.
I think the only reason bellyboards designed like your dumpling aren't out there in mass is because no-one has figured out how to make them cheaply and get them out there. Because they are smaller the perceved price is between that of a boogie and a surfboard. Around the $500 mark.
Hi ' Malaroo ' !
....did you see THIS thread , before ?
I only just chanced upon it tonight , courtesy of perusing Swaylocks legend 'Doc's posts ...
...you get a mention in it , too , by the way , John !
cheers !

Nice thread, especially the opening post by idler, really well written.
Eastern Pacific,
A couple of questions: (a) Is this board ridden finned or finless, (b) what are the dimensions and (c) does the design differ from a standup board of similar length, in terms of thickness distribution?
