And s4f and hicksy, what’s the story behind your pieces. How long, when did you get them done, and why. (please don’t say you saw it on the wall and thought it was cool)
Personally, this was my first piece I always wanted something that showed the balance I share between snowboarding and surfing. As well I dedicate a lot of my time to organizations such as Surfrider and really believe in the connection that everything shares. The hourglass to me has always been a significant image as I think it’s cool how it is a measure of time but like all things it is circular and you can always flip it over and start again. It has some other deeper meanings for me as well but I won’t go into it all.
I’m glad I finally got it.
How bout others? There must be others that have some ink out there.
I got mine a couple of weeks ago now. I’ve always been a big fan of Captain Goodvibes’ artwork, drew waves on my school books that look like that and really liked this old japanese lithograph
Saw Speedneedles art in a magazine and finally decided on a design for me. It’s taken me 16 years to get around to it and I finally got the opportunity to get one whilst on holidays.
BTW, it really hurts getting it done…

Honu in a tribal form. Honu is good luck and wisdom. In Greek mythology the world rested on the turtles back. Here honu has the hammerhead and dolphin in the ying and yang; life and death resting on his back. While on his head (mind) is the surfer cruising with style. I’ve had this for about 5 years. My design. You won’t find this on a wall at your local ink shop! Makes me sick to see some Mom’s van with honu stickers plastered on the rear window.

I also had one put on one side of my Johnson, it reads:“EAT AT JOES BAR-B-QUE LOCATED IN DOWNTOWN CHATTANOGA TENNESSEE TELL THEM WHERE YOU READ THIS FOR A FREE MEAL”
