I see this is available now here in nz. Has anyone used it? What did you think if so?
Claims easyer wet out stronger and whiter boards.
I’ve used the new Silmar SIL66BE-2880 and it’s good. I didn’t notice any miraculous improvement yet in terms of longevity (its a bit early to tell, have only gone thru 5 or 6 gallons) but its high quality resin, wets out nice, and it’s definitely “blue” (for whiter appearing boards).
I do think you are referring to 2880 that Keith mentioned above. I recently got an email from my supplier about this Arylic Resin. Besides all the UV improvements it is supposed to have better flex characteristics. That would make since as it is Acrylic. Keep in mind Acrylic does not mean Waterbased. Still Petro-based, bolstered with Acrylic Resins. They’ve been doing this for years with paints. Both Waterbase and Petro-based. So Keith; How does it compare to 249A? Wet out and Price? I’ve yet to use it. Lowel PS I also got the specs. on Dura-Clear Epoxy. Nice Resin.
just ordered some Tommorth, will let you know what its like, have heard good things so far…
Choice nocean yes its the 2880. Price difference is pretty small 5-10% depending on pack size.
the 2880 is not different, more like an upgrade to 249a… very similar. Or very Silmar!
Just wondering if anyone could shed some more light on this product. I’ve got 20kg on order.
