Simple lap question

Ive read the archives about ways how to sand down the laps after lamination and read that you could use a surform…

This would be awesome except im worried that by using a surform to sand down the laps will sort of “discolor” the laps to where you could see a discoloration of the laps under your hotcoat…

Would it discolor the laps or not?

Are there any other inexpensive ways i could sand down the laps?

Thanks

Hey PS,

I use one to without any problems. Mainly to knock the heavy bumps and then switch over to a 60 grit paper/block.

…PS, if you made a really good lap, you dont need a surform…,only no fill sandpaper…

… and when you ve do the bottom lap, is very risky to rush the foam…

Sureform is a cutting tool, and as such, does not change the color of the glass when you add the next layer.

Like sanding, it appears white, untill you add the next layer, or get the board wet.
