single fin placement on 5'10"

First time post, I’m converting an old, dinged up HIC 5’10" twin fin into a single fin as a learning board for a friend of mine (6 yrs old). I have an 8" glass on fin but am wondering how far up from the tail I should glass it on. Any help is much appreciated. Also I must say that this message board is THE best on the net by far.

It is the best message board for sure…I’d recommend placing the fin about 6 1/2"-7" from the tail. Good luck. FD
