Single skin epoxy help

I have a single skin epoxy board that i need to repair.

I think i am pretty good on the repair but need to know the best way to protect the expoxy from UV.

My only other big repair was on a wind surfer that was painted.  And
from this forum someone recomended automotive spray paint.  That would
be fin but this board has a clear finish over the rail.

I have read about “poly” on the forum but not sure exactly what it
is.

As a last resort i will just spray the rail white (with auto paint) but would prefer to keep the finish as close to
original as possible.

thanks

Most epoxies now have UV inhibitors in them. It’s fine to do the repair without paint, especially if the board has a clear finish. I would use Resin Reasearch Kwik Kick.

Poly is a different type of resin that you wont be using.

Good to know about resin research.  I have a half can of west systems left and i was planning on using it.

I think it does not have the inhibitors in it?

Maybe i should save the west systems  for boards that need paint and buy some of the RR.

I believe West epoxy does not have UV inhibitors included… seen it turn yellow over time.

Do a search for West Systems on Swaylocks to see discussions about it.

I recommend RR or any other type of epoxy resins designed for surfboards.

thanks guys glad i have not start yet
