taken some of your advice and reduced the rocker to 90mm nose to 55mm tail and just marked it all out ready for cutting tomorrow, I’ve also reduced the stringer thickness towards the nose by a few mm. It really is all starting to make sense to me now.
Usually “surf” North Devon around Croyde bay, in fact I’ve just booked a week down there in April…New winter wettie on the cards I think. Massive push to finish the new board by then aswell, would be good to try out both. What’s the water like near you then? Worth a trip? I thought I might try to get to Lagos in Portugal later this year but France would be easier as I know people over that way who have been on my case to visit for the last year or so.
Cheers bud

PS, I was here yesterday, and the day before. Wha’appen?
Right now, it’s snowing! How will it look like in April? Still cold water, but supposedly less than in Devon. Waves might be good, though, who knows? Better check a weather forecast map a few days before planning to move… On a different note, I bet your rocker option is a good one. Keep up the good work! If you stick to the idea of a trip to France (or Portugal via France), feel free to get in touch with us french shapers on http://www.shaperoom.net. A few of us understand English and we may help you around. Cheers.
Way cool! It’s snowing here aswell but unfortunately nothing’s sticking, I was hoping to do some snowboarding this weekend if we get more than a couple of inches.
Nice one, I may well get in touch if I make it out there, and likewise, though I live about as far away from the water as you can get in England and am probably not the best guide to our waters as I’ve only recently discovered surfing and am more into the creating than the riding. Don’t get me wrong, saving for the next surfing trip is one of the reasons I get up and go to work everyday, but building that first board has been one of the most satisfying pursuits of my life so far.
Cut the stringer tonight after the wife went to work, ribs tomorrow, internal rails the weekend, pick up some deck timber Sunday, should be done by next weekend (somewhat doubtful).
Nice plans! I hope everything goes fine. Don’t forget to post photos as it “comes to life”. I’ll probably build a hollow myself as soon as I get rid of the 4 768 current things to do… I have already done chambered balsas but never tried Paul JENSEN’s way of building. Another challenge to come… Cheers.
I guess you’re right… Do me a favor: would you phone the five people that I have promised a board to, telling them that they might have to wait a little longer? I’m sure you’ll manage that fine…(kidding)
