i started a skateboard today and finished all of the wood work. now i want to glass it. can i spray paint the wood and then glass over it? or do i need some special type of acrylic or water based paint? or should i just use some resin pigments and what not? thanks in advance, -steve

Just curious. I think you can use polyuretane wood resin and spray it on, that stuff is oil base. It brings out the color of the wood nicely.

i made the board out of marine ply. i want to make it red with white stripes running the length of the board. im thinking about just using the resin pigments. at least i have a little experience with that.

e-mail Gary Sullivan at www.Floridaoceansports.com He owns a skateboard shop herein St. Pete. He has a museum of old boards about 100. He also has wheels, trucks, posters, a cool museum. He has a few homemade boards. He’s a Cristian, Just say Johnny T. told you to e-mail.

There are some nice fins and skateboards made by Paul Jensen you can e-mail him from that site. I have asked him a couple of questions directly and he was very cool about answering promptly. Magoo
