Skil 100 7.5 on Ebay

Does anyone know who in Carlsbad is selling the Skil 100 7.5 ? Isee this person has zero sales or buys, so I am wondering if it has been sold on ebay once before.

Be careful of sellers with zero feedback. Just a warning. -Carl

Try emailing the person and ask for a phone number.Call them and feel out the deal.Tell them you want to hear the motor run over the phone.(at least you know they have one)If you are from out of town ask the seller if it would be OK for someone to take a personal look.Lastly you can beg or bribe a Swaylocks brother to scope it out for you.If the seller does not agree I would be careful.

I just looked at the planer on Ebay. The guy seems to be a pro shaper and takes Paypal. That is a good sign.I bet the reserve is higher than a Hoot Owl’s Rectum. LOL.

yup, somebody looking to sell at a very high price. Nice looking planer but I wouldn’t pay that much. But then I’m pretty happy using the Clark Hitachis…

Good clean 7.5Amp Type4 SKils like the one on ebay have been hitting $800 to $1200 and even more as of late.

If you can’t pick it up and run it. Pass on it.It’s easy to get burnt on ebay. Gordon

Yup, it’s hard to tell much from a picture. I bought a Makita sander on Ebay that turned out to be pretty crappy.

but then, I paid $20 for it. Not $800.

I use to buy on Ebay, in fact i bought my Hitachi / Clark Foam planer on Ebay and the seller turned to be someone who knows something about resin and all this things… a good guy, for sure. So thing went pretty well.

I’ve seen this seller has 0 feedback, so i would search for someone who will pick up the planer for you. If you can’t do that, you’ll be better away from this auction… it isn’t $20.00 as Keith said.

I had one bad experience with Ebay, even using PayPal, and i don’t want to experience more…

Good luck.

I heard a lot of stories from guys (some here at Swaylocks) that bought Skil’s on e-bay and wound up with a welded-up piece of junk. Don’t always trust the pictures. Make sure you thoroughly inspect it before buying.

I emailed the Guy selling the planer on Ebay.I told him about Swaylocks and how folks were talking about his planer. He was very appreciative and returned my email. He came to the site but couldn’t find the forum.I gave him a heads up so we may be hearing from him today. My reasons for doing this is when I first started selling on Ebay it was tough. This guy sounds like he is straight up. Im pintail78. My name is John Turbeville and the planer is in really great condition and runs strong. I usually use my wifes ebay account but just opened my own. I sell to quite a few shops on the east coast and some on the west coast. For the east coast

I think I have done more boards than anyone at heritage and Malibus for the past 5 years or so. These guys all know me VERY VERY well.

Ill modify it to shape really well if you want. I would not cry if I force myself to keep it but I have 5 of them two I rotate and production shape with and 3 are pristine like this. Also I have 2 hitachis I wouild sell. Buy a skil they are so so much better. JT.

Welcome to Swaylocks JT.I bet you get a bunch of private messages wanting to know about your planer. These guys around Swaylocks are usually poor as church mice ( or act like it)LOL.You just got some competition…An Ebayer in San Francisco has just put 7.5Amp up with no reserve. The Skil wars continue.I have three purple hearts. RB

Welcome JT, i think now you aren’t a 0 feedback seller… nice planer, one day i’ll buy one of those purple hearts…

Good luck with your selling.

Coque.

Roger thanks for the headsup. I should have just used my wifes account, but it gives me a great excuse to keep this one for awhile if it doesnt sell. If you need help with these planers or need some info(getting one, rebuilding, modifying etc) let me know I will be glad to help. Thanks again. JTurbeville.

Coque: Your from spain, do you know the guy from full e cas in satander. I stayed with him for a while about 15 years ago. Northern spain is very cool. JT.

Hey JT, i Know Hugo from F&C, and i also know the people form Pukas (Olatu), Styling, and most of the “big” surfboard factories here in Spain.

So you know northern Spain? I’m from Galicia, a region in the northwest of Spain that still has lots of empty beach breaks for any kind of swell and wind… but the water is COLD at winter and colder in summer, we don’t have those hot currents they have close to France. If you ever come to Europe: let me know!!!

I just sent you a private message.

I had a Basque girlfriend for a while and spent some time in that region. I really liked it there.
