Skil 100 Dust Chute Sells for $100 on Ebay

Did you see where that Dust Chute brought $100 on Ebay??? Heh…I was the one that bought it. Is this obsessive behaviour? Am I getting senile? Alzheimers? The thing is …I have made plenty of dust chutes out of aluminum cans and they work great! Oh well. I better get to work so I can pay for it.

Mako,

Dam it, use the tool or sell it to someone who will use it............It's a tool, not something to be worshipped. Dosen't matter if it cherry, take good care of it and it will stay cherry.

Don't let a kid use it

Don't let your neighbor use it

Don't plane old recycled wood with nails

Don't drop it

If all you are going to do is mow foam with it.............It will never wear out, mowing foam it won't even break a sweat.

I saw that… It looks like there were some other fellas who were happy to pay 80 and 101.

Perhaps a Skil 100 is worth more parted out than complete?!

I recently scored a 100 7.5 amp that is in near brand new condition.  The only mark on it is where the handle rubbed against the inside of the lid of the carrying case.  Otherwise there isn't a mark on it.  When I see units in lesser condition on eBay go for $700+ I'm afraid to even use it.  I'm probably going to put it on there and let it go.  I'm just trying to figure out the best time to put it up there.  My old Ryobi will work just fine for what I do.

I’ve been watching Skil 100’s on eBay like a hawk for the past couple of months. Plenty of them have gone for mid 500s up to 700 for a really cherry one that had the case and all original attachments.

A beater type 4 heavy duty 7.5 amp just sold for 432.

I bet you’d get 700 plus, based on how stuff has gone recently…

I've got the case, all accessories and the original manual.  The case is in rough shape but everything else is like new.  Ive always wanted a Skil 100 but now that I've got this one its actually too nice to use given its value.  Im now looking for a beater.

I am going to take the chute to my friends sheetmetal shop and see what he would charge to make some up. You can list your Skil on ebay with a “buy now or best offer” for only a buck or so. It’s not a bad way to list something expensive and protect yourself. Plus you let a lot of people know you have one for sale. You can figure it out from there.

i’ve got a beater 7.5 amp and am looking for a nicer one, maybe we can play ‘lets make a deal’…  pm me if youre interested.

Check this one…brand new from Makita. I am scared already. A 12 inch monster.

That one must be for SUP shapers…

Holy sheehite, it looks like my Delta portable, but hand held, must weight 70 lbs.

I did a blade change out on my Delta yesterday, while tightening the jib nuts I went about an 1/8" too far and made contact with the edge of the new blade, not a very deep cut for feather weight type of contact, but I bled like I had lobbed off the finger, at least my clotting factor looks really well

That’s a crash test dummy holding that “thing”… he’s right …?! … must be for those lousy SUP shapers … have fun…!!

Would you buy a tool like that, even if you needed it, from a man who had hands like that?  He does not use those hands to earn his living.  If he's wearing a tie I hope he doesn't get it stuck in that sucker.  Mike
