Since this thread originated I came across another tall chute for my 7.5 and bought one of dslims vac attachments. Found another 7.5 for a resonable price and bought a lightly used grit barrel from one of the best shapers in Hawaii and New Zealand— Gordan Hansen. Hoping to get with Petec and have the grit barrel installed on the #2 seven amp soon. Once I get the grit barrel on #2 for EPS; the only thing I can imagine owning for practical use would be an Accurate. The planers that have been listed and re-liseted time and again on Ebay currently are overpriced. When the average price of a fifty year old tool hits a consistent average of $1000; you are just as well off to to spend $200 more and purchase an Accurate. IMHO Lowel
McDing For the Pro or even the serious amature shaper getting a accuate would make sense.
Pete good work, but don’t post a pattern, let the folks make their own. Its not that hard, and they may feel a sense of accomplishment, and be full of themselves enough to post a pic. Only takes a few minutes to make and will last for years. I hate the newer 7.5 chute because of the bar doesn’t allow easy evacuation from the bottom and alwayys clogs, at least when I am shaping at a normal pace.
